Peacefully clinging to the side of a valley, the village of Sebourg is located around ten kilometers from Valenciennes. It immediately appeals to those in search of tranquillity and fresh air. Here you’ll get a glimpse of the typical Avesnois landscape: grassy meadows, gentle hills… A real little corner of the bocage!

Its history is incredibly rich, and for over eight hundred years, the memory of Saint-Druon (the patron saint of farmers) has hovered over it. A visit to Sebourg invites you to discover the charm of its village, its medieval church, its 18th-century censes (a farmhouse… pronounced cinse!) and its bucolic countryside.

As the bon vivant that he is, he shares some of his passions with us: walking, photography and cooking ;-) Here he takes us on a real "bucolic stroll" through one of his favorite addresses in the Valenciennes countryside.

Beautiful countryside views first encounter with the Aunelle

This 6.3 km hike begins with lovely panoramic views over the Sebourg countryside. The Aunelle river will be your guiding light at the start of the walk. The Moulin de Sebourg is your first stop.

The Sebourg water mill has been producing flour since 1785. Since 1928, the Morage family has been continuing this tradition. Today, you can buy your flour directly from the mill!

A stroll through the village Refreshing reunion with Aunelle

Along the way, pass by the delicious gourmet restaurant “L’Unico Côté jardin”. Take a look at the menu, and you’ll be tempted to reserve your table! A little further on, after you’ve already caught sight of a few “cinses” (farms), you’ll find the Aunelle at its most powerful – the waterfall! Take a selfie here.

A bucolic picnic Install your tablecloth near Aunelle

Lovers of nature, lovers of life, don’t hesitate! Treat yourself to some time to yourself.

Pascal our sparkler recommends a picnic just a stone’s throw from the waterfall, in a green setting nestled along the banks of the Aunelle. Sit on the grass and enjoy your picnic basket, reserved in advance at the Aunelle bar (reservations only, to be arranged).
