This mining town is one of the closest to Valenciennes.
The Bleuse Borne mining complex comprises slagheaps 189a and 189b, and two housing estates from different periods, Mont de la Veine and Moulin. It owes its name to the Bleuse Borne pit operated by the Compagnie des Mines d'Anzin. It was one of the longest operating pits in the coalfield. The shaft was sunk in 1783, and although coal mining ceased in 1935, it was used as a service shaft until 1955.
