La Pause historiqueo-gourmande Heading for the village of Sebourg

Peacefully clinging to the side of a valley, the village of Sebourg is located around ten kilometers from Valenciennes. Its history is incredibly rich. It’s an ideal place for those in search of tranquillity, heritage and fresh air.

In picnic mode…

You can reserve your picnic basket at the Bar de l’Aunelle. Julien and Grégory welcome you to the village’s former butcher’s shop. This warm, tastefully-decorated café promises a delightful gourmet break: you’ll be able to sample local produce, play games and read a book. This site has been awarded the Café-Rando label, making it the perfect starting point for your country walks.

“Côté jardin”, at the table of a gourmet restaurant…

L’unico Côté Jardin offers gourmet cuisine based on the finest fresh produce in a verdant setting. The restaurant is nestled in a green setting, and in summer boasts a terrace for al fresco dining in close contact with nature. The decor and ambience of this splendid red-brick building blend the old with the new. Service is precise and attentive, with no pressure and a smile. Dishes are tasty and plentiful, following on from the tasty amuse bouche. Desserts are very good and varied

On the road to Santiago de Compostela... Country pastries, farm produce and beer from the Enfer du Nord!

Quérenaing

Take a stroll through the charming village of Quérénaing, wander the streets and take some time to yourself in the soothing setting of St-Landelin church. The church and village are on the route of the Niederstrasse, a path leading from Aachen (Germany) to Santiago de Compostela.

Treat yourself to a memorable snack or simply a sweet break with pastries from Nanan’s.Treat yourself is a piece of cake for Christopher Duquesnoy, a Masterchef alumnus. He opened his patisserie in the countryside of Quérénaing, and customers sometimes come from far and wide to fill up on his delicacies.

If you opt for a Friday trip during the summer months, end your day among the market’s delicious stalls… smell, taste, chat with the producers or the “little gardeners” who sell their produce…

On other days, stock up on local produce and beers in the La ferme des traditions store. .. Did you know? This is where the legendary Paris-Roubaix beer is brewed: L’Enfer du Nord!

You can also try your hand at some of the farm produce on sale and available for collection in the lockers at the ferme des 4 cantons.

The "really good" discovery of Artres

Shopping at Ferme Des 3 Muids

A small, family-run organic farm located in Artres, not far from Valenciennes, in the charming Rhonelle valley.

Stéphanie Lionne and her husband raise Limousin cattle (beef) and Jersey cattle (milk). Jersiaises are small, hardy cows that produce quality, not quantity. Jersey milk is richer in minerals and omega 3 and 6 proteins, and contains less lactose.

In your basket you’ll find nothing but “really good” dairy products: butter, crème fraîche, ice creams, yoghurts and mature cheeses, including Coeur valenciennois, one of our specialties.

The farm store opens every Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 6pm.
