The Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes takes place every year in September and offers over 50 feature films, including two preview competitions, one devoted to documentaries, the other to fiction.

Every year, the Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes also pays tribute to the cinema professions, and organizes screenings for young audiences, to offer programming for as many people as possible.

The Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes is also an opportunity to meet the great names of the 7th art in a convivial atmosphere.

For fans of Baroque Moments Immediate boarding

The story of the “Embar(o)quement immédiat!” Festival began with a meeting of enthusiasts. In 2002, Yannick Lemaire and Fabien Guilloux shared their interest in sacred musical heritage, and created the Harmonia Sacra baroque ensemble. They brought together a number of young artists from the region to create a chamber choir, and very quickly built up their first festival, entirely devoted to Jesuit music, of which the town of Valenciennes preserves one of the most important 18th-century libraries.

Entirely devoted to the musicians and musical history of Hainaut, since 2007 the Festival has been playing works forgotten for centuries, and arousing the curiosity of an ever-growing audience. The resounding success of this event has prompted Harmonia Sacra to perpetuate the “Embar(o)quement immédiat!” festival.

Concerts, exhibitions, more or less unusual activities, actions aimed at schoolchildren and even an opera-bus… That’s Embar(o)quement and its famous festival of baroque music, in Valenciennes and other towns in the area. Every spring, the passion for Baroque music dares to do anything, and it proves it.

For fans of street art and circus shows Les Turbulentes

A single watchword: conviviality, for a festival that’s inclusive, committed, accessible, free and family-friendly.

Les Turbulentes is a testament to the vitality of the street arts field. The format, tried and tested over the years (a quarter of a century already), now makes it one of the most important festivals dedicated to the street arts on a national and even international level.

Every spring, this local highlight, which takes place in Vieux-Condé near Valenciennes, offers a kaleidoscope of artistic expression, from dance to object theater, not forgetting performance art in public spaces. During three days of extraordinary sharing, with 35,000 festival-goers over the weekend, around creation in public spaces, the festival is resolutely committed to equality between women and men and universal accessibility of artistic proposals.
