Top 3 ways to enjoy the water with the little ones

What could be better than cooling off with the family on a hot summer’s day, or even having fun under waterfalls or in the fun pools of the Valenciennois? You don’t need to know how to swim, just enjoy the pleasures of the water.

Your kids will love it!

Quiévrechain 1. AquaCentre de l'Aunelle

Did you know that in the commune of Quiévrechain, on the Belgian border just a few kilometers from Valenciennes and near the Corderie sports complex, there’s an ideal new indoor aquatic center for young and old alike?

Comprising several pools, the learning pool and paddling pool are sure to delight your little ones! Make way for starfish or diving!

They’ll have the choice between the large bath, the small bath and even the mini bath for toddlers.

Another 100% family experience is Le Jardin Ludique, offered by the Aqua Centre de l’Aunelle, a fun activity and course for children aged 2 to 8, enabling them to (re)discover the aquatic environment.

If you’re interested, various activities are scheduled all year round, including aquagym, aquabike and swimming lessons.

Condé-sur-l'Escaut 2. Water games

Did you know that the Chabaud-Latour leisure park in Condé-sur-l’Escaut offers a wide range of outdoor activities and games for families (slides, sports course, sand park…)?

A nugget nestled on the former mining site of which the town is proud, and which delights many Valenciennes families.

On the site of the leisure park, the water games are the ideal place to cool off and, above all, have fun. Water gushing up from the ground, flower sculptures… that topple over to surprise your children. Bathing attire compulsory, the water games are open on Wednesdays and weekends throughout the summer, then every day during the summer vacations, weather permitting.

Access is free for residents of Condé-sur-l’Escaut, and chargeable for children from outside the town (accompanied by an adult). All you need to do is book in advance or directly at the Base Nature et de Loisirs to gain access to the water games and obtain wristbands. Several time slots are available.

Parents or grandparents can also enjoy a moment of relaxation on the lawn around the play area or on the benches provided. Picnics accepted, toilets and city supervision on site.

Did you know?

Fancy a snack after the water games? Go to the Guinguette du Lac a few metres away for a sweet or savoury treat, or cool down with an ice cream on the terrace overlooking the Chabaud Latour lake!

Valenciennes 3. Center aquatique Nungesser

Located in the heart of the Nungesser district and close to the Stade du Hainaut, the Centre aquatique Nungesser is the place to be in Valenciennes if you’re looking for a refreshing moment of fun!

A genuine new-generation 6000m2 aquatic complex, this leisure hub has been a place of life for all residents of the Valenciennes area and beyond since 2020.
Whether you’re an avid swimmer, an accomplished sportsman or a beginner, whether you want to have fun with the family, practice fitness or simply relax, there’s bound to be an activity for you at the Nungesser Valenciennes aquatic center and among the 4 pools available for swimming, wading or having fun!

As a family, take advantage of the large play pool. While the little ones splash around in the paddling pool, the young ones take to the waterslide. The Centre aquatique Nungesser is a real indoor family leisure center.

Hungry on your way out? Don’t forget to book a table at Atelier Nungesser, the on-site brasserie that’ll be the icing on the cake when you get out of the water!
