The point-node network Or how to pedal in complete freedom!

The Point Nœud network? What is it?

The concept of the Point-Nœud network was imported from Belgium. For cyclists, it’s synonymous with freedom, flexibility and autonomy. All you have to do is create your own itinerary by noting the numbers, then follow it on the little green and white signs.
Add up the kilometers between the dots and complete your loop without returning the same way!
An authentic cycling adventure where history meets nature.

Thanks to this network of cycling nodes, you can pedal between mining sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, cross the Belgian border and stop off at protected areas that are refuges of biodiversity. Certainly one of the most beautiful bike rides in the Nord!

An adventure in constant evolution

Point-node networks continue to develop in the Nord region and in the mining basin.

We are fortunate to have been chosen for a “demonstrator” point-node network in the Scheldt wet plains sector, but this network will continue to link up with other neighbouring areas and will constitute the Bassin Minier network by 2026, with over 1,500 km of routes.

In the meantime, it’s perfectly possible to cross the border and take to the roads of our Belgian neighbors, from Chabaud Latour!

And, of course, in the four other regions of the Nord: Plaine et Littoral de Flandre, Vallée de la Lys et Monts de Flandre, and Avesnois!

The department has devised a route lasting around 1h40 around the Chabaud Latour site, starting from the leisure center:

Follow the numbers: 27, 28, 31, 30, 84, 1, 99, 95, 94, 91, 90, 87, 86, 85, 81, 80, 15, 16, 17, 30, 29, 26, 27

This walk around the Chabaud-Latour pond takes you through wetlands, undergrowth and a site emblematic of the mining past. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of the great cormorant, the mute swan, the marsh warbler and the beautiful blue-throat! A rejuvenating getaway between nature and the vestiges of a great human epic.

The team at the Chabaud Latour nature and leisure center, which has been awarded the “Accueil Vélo” label, will be delighted to welcome you and rent you bikes for your adventure! They know the area inside out, and will be happy to give you advice.
