Ferme d'Haussy, "cense du château"

  • Town visits
2 Rue de l'Église, 59269 Artres
Of feudal origin, this large farm (known locally as a "cense") belonged to the Hautecoeur family in the 18th century, until it was sold as national property during the French Revolution. It was then bought by the d'Haussy family (wealthy village farmers). The gateway to this former "cense du château" is topped by a remarkable dovecote dating from 1747.
