The present church dates back to 1718, as evidenced by the inscription engraved in a diamond-shaped square stone embedded in the north exterior wall, and by the date stamp in projecting bricks on the west façade. The church is home to a 15th-century calvary, a 16th-century statue of St. James and several 18th-century paintings and tombstones, which were restored in 2006.
