If you have or are going to walk the Promenade des Arts following our hanging blue lanterns, then these will lead you right to him! Go to “Au Tour du Kiosque”, just behind the Musée des Beaux-Arts.

Getting there

One address gourmet and convivial

A kiosk that hides a fine local talent, that of master chocolatier Christophe Tahier.

An atypical address, but 100% gourmet and convivial! Step inside his workshop-boutique, or rather his kiosk.

Christophe will share with you his love and generosity, his passion for chocolate since he was a child. It’s a dream come true, and one that’s delighted every taste bud in Valenciennes! The choice on the shelves is varied and colorful: small chocolates of all shapes and sizes, ganaches or pralines, marshmallows, not forgetting the unmissable Toffines (Christophe’s specialties) or the “Coeur de Valenciennes” (a praline heart with puffed rice, for example)…

For every occasion, Christophe works the chocolate in front of you like a work of art.

To accompany his little sweets that taunt you with their eyes, Christophe offers hot drinks and invites you to sit back and savor this moment of pleasure indoors or on his terrace.

A tree-lined terrace overlooking the monumental façade of the Musée des Beaux-Arts awaits you as soon as the fine weather arrives…

Much more... than a chocolatier!

Christophe also makes delicious pastries (choux, éclairs, cakes on request) mainly for weekends. We can’t recommend them enough! Trust him and place your order. For a family event, a birthday…or even a business event, Christophe is at your disposal.

He’s also the only one to have taken over the original recipe for the famous Carpeaux cake from Valenciennes, which you can also discover.

As you can see, “Au Tour du Kiosque” is a unique and friendly stopover 100% cocoa in Valenciennes, where you’ll melt with gustatory pleasure!

As well as being a must-visit address in town, it was also awarded the“café-rando” label in 2024.

The kiosk also opens its doors on certain occasions of the year when gatherings take place on the Place Verte, such as the“rencontres du kiosque” (classic English hoods), the Retro-Car Hainaut

Did you know?

Christophe Tahier has been a master chocolatier since 2002. He started his business in a mobile bus, entirely refurbished for him, which you can find on market days (Place d’Armes) and throughout December at the Valenciennes Christmas Village, in addition to the kiosk which remains open.

Of all passions, the only truly respectable one seems to me to be gluttony.
