Le cavalier des Gueules Noires
-
This section corresponds to part of the first line commissioned in 1874 by the Anzin Mining Company and connecting Vieux-Condé to Anzin. From the outskirts of the Cité de la Solitude to the Chabaud-Latour junction, most of the rider has been rehabilitated respecting the original layout. Crossing the Regional Natural Park Scarpe-Escaut, this portion of rider offers long perspectives on the surrounding landscape and is a soft link allowing sports and leisure activities. You will see many testimonies of the industrial past of the territory, such as the train station Fresnes on the Scheldt, the City Ledru-Rollin (Bruay on the Scheldt), or the walled city of Conde on the Scheldt.
