Two light-filled routes cross the city centre from east to west and from north to south, their central point being the majestic Place d’Armes. They enable you to discover Valenciennes’ artistic and architectural heritage by night.
Le parcours des Chalands is one of these light-filled routes: At the main entrances to the route, vertical apricot-coloured neon lights have been placed at the first-floor level of the houses, while a selection of architectural details highlighted by mini LED projectors shows off the history of the town. Details of works of art on display at the Musée des Beaux-Arts are projected onto the buildings, giving the whole thing a consistent theme.
